KEY RASTEAU PRODUCER AND BEST VALUE WINES IN 2024

Rasteau rouge “Héritage 1024” 2024

Violets, blueberries and strawberries make for an aromatic style of pure Grenache on the nose, that then hits home on the palate with concentration, intensity, acidity and fine tannins. There’s no excess alcohol. This has real intensity and salinity which, despite its immediate appeal and drinkability, suggests it could be interesting too with age. This is an elegant wine, perfectly balanced and fresh. Single parcel of Grenache planted in 1924 on blue marl, all destemmed, aged in concrete.

Rasteau “Classique” 2024
Fuller than this estate’s other Rasteau wines this year, this has a wealth of damson and plum fruit, all shot through with a beam of bright acidity. Has length and concentration, as well as fine, clay-like tannins, it’s satin-textured but has a grippy finish. An intense wine due to its tension and acidity. Good value pick.
