“Rasteau is a wine often marked by its power. But aromatic fullness does not mean over-density when the vines are well managed. The proof is in this simple and very beautiful cuvée from the Ferran family, one of the most reliable values of the appellation, both in red and in Vin Doux Naturel. The Grenache and Syrah grapes in the blend are from young vines and simply matured in concrete vats for nine months. The grapes are less concentrated than on the old vines and the vinification technique favours the fruit: the marriage works perfectly and offers a velvety and delicate Rasteau, with notes of blackberries and blackcurrants, enriched with sweet spices. Pasta al raqù or grilled lamb, the bottle will be wonderful in these first beautiful days !”
