Vieux Marc de Rasteau

Vintage 2014 – Sold out

Terroir

This marc comes from our old Grenache noir vines dedicated to the “Héritage 1924” cuvée. Our lieu-dit “Les Fouquesses” is a blue clay soil on a high altitude terroir, facing north and facing the Mont Ventoux.

Vinification

The marc, composed of the skin and seeds of the destemmed grapes, is slowly distilled in a traditional still. The marc is then aged in our cellar for 8 years in oak barrels and demi-muids of Cognac. Over the years, the gradual evaporation of the alcohol has allowed the natural lowering of the degree to 43% vol. Blended and bottled by hand without filtration, these 299 bottles of marc are the noble expression of our terroir.

Tasting notes

Beautiful amber colour with golden reflects. Expressive nose with musk and hazelnut aromas. The palate is soft and fine with notes of bitter orange, dried flowers and Bourbon vanilla. The finish extends to lovely tobacco aromas.
When? To be savoured slowly, as a digestive, for the pleasure of stretching out the evening and conversations, to take your time and relax.
