The 2014 vintage is a vintage of terroir and winemaker. When the Grenache “pinote”.
The winter was mild and rainy, allowing water reserves to be replenished. Spring, hot and dry, with temperatures beyond seasonal norms, predicting an early and sunny vintage. However, due to a less sunny summer, with cool nights and punctuated by rain, in a few weeks the vintage lost its precocity to become one of the latest. Yields seemed good, but the rains at the end of September forced us to carry out rigorous sorting in the vines.
A nice tension and liveliness enliven the whites and rosés. The reds are fruity, delicate wines with a beautiful minerality, less opulent than usual, with fine and integrated tannins. The Grenache is expressed by a Burgundy finesse, the Syrah is perfectly ripe and very graphite.
The 2014 vintage, in the continuity of 2013, offers fresh wines, of a beautiful freshness with a good aging potential, provided you are patient enough.
