« La Ponce » Rasteau red 2011

“The Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel, a reference, had won its stripes within the very select club of mutated Grenaches. But since 2010, the vineyard has given birth to a new Rasteau, red and dry. Finally, the value of the terroir bordering the Ouvèze river is recognized. The name, which comes from rake, finds its origin in the rugged landscape dominating the hills and valleys where the vineyard extends. It is between Rasteau, Roaix and Cairanne that Gilles Ferran, with the consultant oenologist Philippe Cambie, vinifies his Rasteau, ripe but elegant and fresh. The garrigue and a hint of laurel for a complex nose on a fleshy and silky mouth, just supported by an elegant tannic belt. La Ponce is a beautiful cuvée that honors the vineyards of Rasteau and the Rhône Valley.

How to drink it? It is the red wine of a rabbit with olives or a shoulder of veal with spices. To keep like all good Rasteau between 5 and 8 years.〞
