Six estates to watch
« This is an exciting domaine with a deserved overseas following. Two excellent cuvées, « La Ponce » and « Héritage 1924 », are made by the dedicated Gilles Ferran, whose cellar is in the highest, most hidden location of the appellation, La Montagne. The wines have flair, and local imprint ; the top cuvée, « Héritage 1924 », is made from Grenache planted before 1924. Real benchmark quality. Very good Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel as well. » John Livingstone
