“It is difficult to resist the frank simplicity of Rasteau Escaravailles. The blend of Grenache (80%) and Syrah is aged for nine months in stainless steel tanks. The winemaker, Gilles Ferran, is more interested in fruit and pleasure than in depth and complexity. But the cuvée is by no means overdone and shows a nice finesse of juice. Perfect for a spring barbecue!”
