GREAT DRY WINES IN THE APPELLATION OF SWEETS

La Revue du Vin de France

The discovery

“Escaravail? Scarab in Occitan. The nickname given to black penitents, the monks who lived on this estate before Gilles Ferran’s grandfather bought it in 1953. Gilles returned there in 1986, majoring in oenology in Montpellier, with Philippe Cambie, the most influential consultant of Southern Rhône, his great friend. Enlarged, its cellar, the highest in Rasteau, receives 70 ha, including 40 from Rasteau. His reds are refined by the altitude of Grenache grown on clay, precise wines in aromas, energetic, velvety, without stress or dry tannins.〞

« Héritage 1924 » CDR Villages Rasteau red 2007 16/20

Made from 1924 Grenache, very whole, fresh, straight, dense, spicy, aged in concrete vats.
