LE GUIDE DES MEILLEURS VINS DE FRANCE 2023

La Revue du Vin de France

« Nestled in the heights of the Rasteau appellation, at an altitude of 340 meters, the estate cultivates 40 hectares of vines in a wide range of appellations: mainly Rasteau, but also Cairanne, Roaix and Villedieu. Gilles Ferran and his wife Laurence are now assisted by their daughter Madeline. Founded in 1953, this domaine shines for the quality of its wines, and for its high-class amber Vins Doux Naturels Rasteau. Juicy fruit and textural quality are the two greatest qualities of the estate’s cuvées. And let’s not forget the white wines, which breathe southern identity, but without excessive richness.

The wines: The domaine produces very typical Cairanne wines, fleshy yet caressing. The Ventabren 2020 seduces with its charming nose and fruit that expresses itself like a red fruit coulis. The range of Rasteau wines is coherent: La Ponce rouge 2020 displays superb substance, just the right amount of ripeness and diffused power. »
