2012: « The Harmonious »
The 2012 vintage is the perfect harmony between balance, roundness and elegance.
After a very cold winter, which challenged our old vines, the spring was cool and rainy, leading to a flowering disrupted by temperature variations and a significant coulure phenomenon on our Grenaches.
Then, the summer was hot and dry with a heat wave in August. Rain at the end of August was a great help in reaching optimal ripeness. The harmony between sugar, acidity and polyphenols is the key to making great wines, but we require special attention to harvest at the ideal time. This 2012 vintage, with a healthy harvest, allowed us to wait for the perfect moment for each variety and each plot.
In the cellar, the whites and rosés are frank, lively and complex. The reds are in the same frame as the whites, retaining a nice freshness. The tannins are velvety, the wines are concentrated, balanced and fruity.
The 2012 vintage produced frank and elegant wines with the potential to age for many years. A vintage that will delight lovers of the Rhône Valley.
